Cat blogging, but I look good doing it

Things have calmed down here a bit. I know most of you probably didn't notice (unless there are a few web designers lurking, in which case I humbly apologize for my "home version of photoshop" aesthetics), my banner was off by TWO FREAKIN' PIXELS! Two measly little pixels that had been dogging me all afternoon, and Blogger's "shrink to fit" option kept insisting my header should be 762 pixels wide, not 760. Inevitably, I had to root around in the code and change it back to 760. (Hint: if you want to know how wide to make your banner, check your HTML where it says "header." There should be a number there around 700. That's how many pixels wide it should be.)

Other than that little snafu, I'm pretty happy with the look -- at least for another month. I'm not planning on changing the header every month, but I'm not averse to it either. And I wasn't really planning on changing the whole color scheme, but I had made the new header, and it looked a little "heavy" with the all white background, so I changed the background to blue. The link color sort of bugs, but it's staying -- for now.

I studied design for a couple semesters before I switched to journalism. I think I never resolved that. Frustrated artist, ya'll.

Anyway, in the spirit of NaBloPoMo's March "list theme," um, here's something totally unrelated to bad web design. In honor of Sarah, the cat, who turns eight today:

Utterly Ridiculous Nicknames I've Given My Cat
(I probably should start off by saying, no, I'm not the crazy cat lady. At least not yet. I have only one cat, and, I think, have quite a few years to go before I become that woman. Bear with me, these are all hella embarrassing, but I will humiliate myself for the greater good. Oh lordy...)

Pretty Pretty
Smushaface (It makes sense if you're actually smooshing her face when you say it. Sort of.)
Foot Foot (As in the Shaggs' song "My Pal Foot Foot.")
Pissyfur
Stinkybutt
Baby (She's eight. Not a baby. Conversely...)
Old lady
Fuzzy
Monkey
Scooby
Softie

Well, I enjoy the design.

I hear ya about changing it often. I have to devise a scheme to just change the header, but then I get sucked in and it's a full design change and I'm only happy with it for a month, tops.

The site looks fabulous:) A 2 pixel snafu is enough to give me a grand mal anxiety attack! OMG. I'm glad you found the fix.

I was just getting ready to write about all the crazy nicknames I have for the baby. Weird:)

Thanks. I'm happier with it today than I was last night. I'm resisting the urge to tweak, though.
