I desperately need to go through all my cosmetics and throw way all the things that look more like science projects and less like beauty projects.
The closets need attention, too, but after waking up with my left eye looking as though I'd been on a month long bender (that inexplicably left my right eye clear and sparkly), I'd better toss some things. Like the eyeshadow I bought when out first Sephora opened -- five years ago.
And you know what comes with cleaning out your makeup bag? Replacing everything in your makeup bag. Need I mention it (again?) that the Galleria makes this far too easy by putting Sephora next to the Apple Store? I'm convinced they made me in mind when they made the floor plans. (Or possibly that the boyfriends would putter around the Apple Store while the gals browsed in Sephora.) A few months ago, I wrote about how I was using fewer and fewer products (which isn't say much by my former RuPaul-by-way-of-Baby Jane standards). Some things I refuse to give up (concealer), and some things I just look plain hideous without (concealer).
Bath & Body Works has been a favorite haunt of mine, but they no longer accept Express's card. I wound up charging too much to one of my other cards for shampoo and lip gloss -- things I should just pay cash for, but I don't carry that much cash around. The lip gloss was the chemical-free kind I like. I try to wear stuff made without synthetic dyes, a little hard to find. (This has been an excellent resource.)
Despite my hippy-trippy nature when it comes to what I put on my face, I tried Thierry Mugler's new scent, Alien. Yeah, I was attracted to the name. I like it much better than Angel, which smells horrid with my body chemistry. I'm not sure I want to buy it though, as I wear fragrance so infrequently because of migraines.
Oh, in addition to throwing shit away, I washed all my makeup brushes. Good idea to do so. I hadn't in, oh, never. The last time I washed a brush the bristles fell out (kind of like what happens when you try to wash a troll doll's hair -- I speak from experience). It's so true that you should spend your money on good brushes. (I like MAC's.) The cheap ones will fall apart.

I was in the mall once looking for a new fragrance and tried Angel. I spent the rest of the day smelling like a dirty dirty whore. It did not work for me.
ooohhh, Bath and Body works....get on their mailing list and they will send you free full sized products. It's great.
Angel is beautiful, but it's really hard to wear. Plus I'm a big sweater, so that seems to nasty it up.
