Not proud

I spent the better (read: non torrential downpour) part of yesterday afternoon at the Pridefest Parade. I've been going to this for the past seven or eight years. Nary a problem, despite the parade snaking around a catholic church. At least I've never been aware of any.

Yesterday I saw something that made me want to rip the hair out of my head: a couple protesters carrying signs that read "Born that way? Get Born Again?" and "Got AIDS yet?"

Yeah, thanks. I didn't know it was 1982 and we still believed that all homosexuals were tainted with the AIDS virus. Please. And "Get born again?" No thanks. I was already born into homophobia and ignorance once. I don't think I'll revisited it.

Other than the intolerance, the parade was hella (did I just write that?) fun, although I thought the turnout could have been better. Oh, and the intermittent rain showers kind of crapped on the day.

Then my camera battery died.
