Uninspired, but not really

I having one of those days where I have about ten things I want to write, but can't motivate myself to start any of them. It doesn't help that my typing looks like leftover scrabble pieces. (Yes, it's particularly bad today. I keep going back to edit and it seems every other word is underscored with wiggly red lines.) Plus, my Pandora station wants to play *gasp* Hootie and the Blowfish?! But... but... I'm still cool, right? Hey Pandora, I told you I liked Velvet Underground and The Ramones, remember?

On a more serious note, I just deleted half my post. I don't know what it is. Maybe I'm just bad at arguing, but I see a discussion online and I want to jump in, but I what I'm thinking is so radically different from every other commenter that it must be wrong. If something is so glaringly obvious, yet I can't see it, I must have the problem. (Yes, this refers to the BIG controversy o' the day: that magazine with the satirical cover that allegedly took it "a bit too far.")

A solution to my "problem?" back away from the internets.

Eesh.. that cover. I don't know what to say other than "yeah: satire, context, etc but I also feel this thing... how to phrase it? That the masses are so unable to grok snarkiness? Hi, now I'm an elitist asshat... Anyway I am worried about some complex and abstract damage done to liberals as a whole since everyone knows the New Yorker speaks for all liberals everywhere.

I guess I'm thinking that there are a zillion layers of me going "eep!" and simultaneously thinking they shouldn't have published it and that it was awesomely kick ass brave and relevant and brilliant at the same time?

I'm just worried... I have no faith in the American peeps as a generalized entity. They elected George. Twice. See, I have logic.

It's ok to admit you like Hootie. After all, someone out there has to own one of the millions of albums they sold!
Also.....NickelBack = The new Hootie?
